Can Prayer Supercede Religion???

Is it possible that religion, created by man though devine intervention is a stage we can progress though in order to undertand the powers of prayer? Is it possilbe that the significance of prayer can disentangle the defective teachings and interpretations that man has unintentionally intertwined in religion? Most of us are familiar with “The Good Ship Jesus”, and what about the Islamic reference “fight and slay the pagans (or infidels or unbelievers) wherever you find them”. Both of which have to be interpreted by religious professors and theologians, for us lay people to better understand the true meaning. Could it be possible that these are not GOD’s thoughts, but the thoughts and ideas of man. And could it be possible that though prayer GOD’s true words will shine a light into our hearts for better understanding, rather then leaning on man’s interpretation & understanding. What do you think????

    Hello

I personally prefer to pray than read a bible. Do not get me wrong I believe that the bible contains SOME of gods words but as you said it is man who has had to interprete them. I believe that god speaks to us all, whether it be via signs or dreams, but most of us contiously and uncontiously ignore him. The power or prayer is undeniable. There is no error there, no misunderstandings. I live my life by keeping my mind open to intercept the things that god shows me. I am not some freak who’s running around saying god told me to this or that, I am a regular person who does regular things but I just happen to beleive that if we as people were to spend more time listening instead of talking we would hear and understand what the father really expects of us.

    Blessings to you.
